ANDI LEVEL 3 WRECK

COURSE PREREQUISITE

ANDI Level 3 (Intermediate Trimix) or equivalent. This course can be combined with the ANDI Level 3 course.

Please note that a check out dive may be required to determine suitability of a candidate for this course. Please refer to Level 3 Equipment for necessary gear requirements.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is designed for a proficient technical diver who wishes to expend their area of diving into the overhead environment of shipwrecks. The course will provide instruction to the following areas of wreck diving:

  1. Motivation for wreck diving
  2. Review of relevant topics in the areas of gas management, gas matching, gas switching, decompression considerations and decompression planning.
  3. Historical perspective
  4. Shipwreck types
  5. Locating a wreck
  6. Gear configuration
  7. Types of penetrations
  8. Line laying
  9. Low or zero visibility procedures
  10. Exiting the wreck with no mask
  11. Placement and recovery of deco bottles
  12. Gas sharing ascent procedures
  13. Valve manipulation and failure procedures
  14. Gas planning (1/2 and 1/3 rules)
  15. Emergency procedures (lost diver, lost line, lost upline)
  16. Scientific and archeological consideration

NUMBER OF DIVES: 6 (minimum of four on a shipwreck, minimum of two dives with 21/35 gas and two deco gases, 50/50 and 100%).
Duration: 3-4 days

COST

$399.00 (tax, manual, gas and charter fee not included). $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining amount is payable in full before the commencing of the first class.
